Refurbishment of building C12 begins

Construction work has begun on and in building C12 (staff building 2) on the University of Erfurt campus to carry out extensive repairs and modernisation. The University of Erfurt is carrying out this so-called "major construction project" itself. As things stand today, the construction work should be completed by the end of 2027.

Building C12 on the University of Erfurt campus is to be extensively renovated by 2027.

Initial preparatory work inside the building has already been completed, and from 16 June the construction site area will gradually be secured with a construction fence. From the last week of August, the passageway between buildings C12 (staff building 2) and C18 (teaching building 4) will be closed and an alternative route will be signposted. The construction planning envisages the realisation of a geothermal system for this building for the first time. To this end, ground investigations will first be carried out to determine the energy potential.

The construction work is scheduled so that no noisy work takes place during the examination period at the end of the semester and restrictions are postponed to the lecture-free period as far as possible. We ask for your understanding for any inconvenience and obstructions that may nevertheless occur. If you have any questions about the construction work, please contact the Department 4: Facility Management is at your disposal.
