Information from the organisers

Working independently alongside your studies sounds like freedom and flexibility - but quickly raises many questions:
Freelance or commercial? VAT - yes or no? What impact does your income have on BAföG, child benefit or health insurance?
The workshop provides clarity on the legal and tax framework for self-employment during your studies.

The following topics are covered, among others:

  • Differences between freelance and commercial activities
  • Requirements for invoices and reporting obligations
  • Effects on subsidies and insurance
  • Typical mistakes - and how to avoid them

Practical, understandable and based on concrete examples - without a jungle of paragraphs, but with a solid foundation for a secure start. Regardless of whether you are just thinking about self-employment or have already started - you will get guidance here.

We look forward to your registration!

The Thuringian university start-up network StarTH connects the start-up advice centres at Thuringian universities and creates a central platform for students, academics and graduates interested in starting a business. The start-up advice centres offer comprehensive advice and coaching services - from initial advice to individual support in all phases of the start-up process and in obtaining funding.
