Maintenance work on 19 September 2026 at the IT centre for Thuringian universities: Service disruptions

On Saturday, 19 September 2026, extensive maintenance work will be carried out on the communications infrastructure at the University IT Centre’s Ilmenau site. As part of the upgrade of the Technical University of Ilmenau’s data network, the central core routers for the entire data network will be replaced, resulting in the disruption of various services.

As part of the maintenance work, there will be a complete outage of IT services provided by the University Computer Centre and the Ilmenau University IT Centre. During the work, no data communication will be possible across the entire university campus. Furthermore, the servers and IT services operated there will also be inaccessible from outside the campus.

The following IT services provided by the University of Erfurt are affected by the outage:

  • Moodle e-learning
  • Groupware Exchange
  • Uni Erfurt Cloud
  • SharePoint

The maintenance work will begin on Saturday, 19 September 2026, at 10.00 am and is expected to be completed by 8.00 pm.
