Review 2021

First of all, participants at the Graduate Day had the opportunity to take part in a workshop on the topic "Doctorate - Is it for me? - Tips for decision-making". Afterwards, the Vice President for Resarch and Graduate Services, Prof. Dr. Benedikt Kranemann, welcomed the participants and everybody got the opportunity to ask questions at the forum of the Research and Graduate Services about the procedure of a doctorate, funding opportunities, support services at the University of Erfurt and other topics relevant for doing a doctorate. In the afternoon, the participants were able to enter into a direct dialogue with the Graduate Centres and the Max-Weber-Kolleg and could ask their speakers, doctoral candidates and other members various questions related to doing a doctorate in their respective Graduate Centres. An online get-together with the doctoral representation rounded off the event.

Review 2018

At the University of Erfurt's first graduate day on June 19, 2018, the approximately 60 participants were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Benedikt Kranemann, Vice President for Research and Graduate Service. Subsequently, Prof. Dr. Kranemann presented the Christoph-Martin-Wieland Graduate Forum, in which existing programmes, structures and units of graduate funding are bundled and organized across the board. In addition, the audience received information on the doctoral paths at the University of Erfurt, the doctoral process and funding options for a doctorate. Dr. Achim Haag, Program Director at the DFG, finally presented funding opportunities from the German Research Foundation.

After the lecture programme, the participants of the Graduate Day had the opportunity to find out more about a doctorate on the opportunities market at the graduate centres and other relevant contacts.

Starting at 1 p.m., three workshops were offered one after the other that dealt with different aspects of a doctorate. There was great interest in the workshops, so they were well attended.

At the end of the day there was the opportunity to exchange ideas with doctoral candidates at the graduate get-together.
