DEFA-Grenzenlos: Mobilität und Raum

The conference DEFA Grenzenlos: Mobilität und Raum summarises the topic in terms of content and institutions. The contributions deal with the content-related The contributions deal with the content-related organisation of space and place, or mobility - in the sense of travelling and movement in space - as a theme of cinematic exploration. On the other hand, the diverse transnational entanglements of DEFA are analysed, among other things with regard to the institutional the institutional framework conditions of film export and import.

This dual perspective is intended to broaden the view of DEFA film's sphere of production and impact and embed it in a transnational context. In doing so, both new paths will be explored and considerations already begun will be continued.

The conference will take place at the University of Erfurt and will be held in German and English. Researchers from all disciplines who are interested in the topic are cordially invited to participate. Following the conference, a publication of the contributions is planned.
