A practical introduction to research data management, covering:

  • Benefits of effective data management
  • Support structures and resources
  • Key topics: terminology, legal frameworks, research data lifecycle
  • Practical tasks: locating data, creating Data Management Plans (DMPs), handling personal data, sustainable organization, publication, and archiving

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Explain essential research data management terms
  • Recognize relevant policies and regulations
  • Understand the importance of data in research and publication
  • Develop data search strategies and create DMPs
  • Manage personal data ethically and effectively
  • Select data for publication and archiving
  • Use persistent identifiers like ORCID to increase visibility
  • Identify NFDI consortia relevant to your field
