The number of digital tools for research and science is growing rapidly. From AI-based applications to specialised organisational and writing tools. But which of them are really helpful, what is their data protection situation and what is practicable with them in everyday research?
The workshop provides a structured overview of current tools that can support researchers in various phases of their workflow: from literature research and knowledge organisation to writing and collaboration.
In addition to brief demonstrations of key functions, fundamental aspects such as data protection, cost models and terms of use will be explained. Participants will also learn about simple frameworks that they can use to specifically evaluate tools and integrate them into their own work processes.
The aim is to provide orientation in the tool jungle and at the same time raise awareness of strategic, sustainable tool use in research.
