Once you finished your doctorate and start planning your future academic career in Germany, third party funding is a topic you can’t ignore: Funds for research, teaching and supportive activities are available by manifold funding agencies and programs. Yet, competition is tough and you need to plan smart to become a successful grantee.
This course is designed for early postdocs, as well as for doctoral candidates in the late stage of their doctorate. Participants will acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and mindset to prepare a third-party-funding proposal.
In particular, the course will cover three topics:

Dr Benjamin Sippel is a research funding consultant at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena. He advises humanities scholars and scientists at various career stages on applying for third-party funding in national and international funding programmes.
Previously, he worked in various science-related areas at the University of Erfurt - including as a consultant for third-party funding. He completed his doctorate in Ancient History at the Max Weber Centre at the University of Erfurt.
