President's Office

At the University of Erfurt, the President's Office serves as the central point of contact for the President and the Presidium. It supports the members of the Presidium in their communication and in carrying out their responsibilities. In addition, meetings, appointments, and working groups are coordinated to ensure the smooth operation of administrative processes. Furthermore, the office supports strategic projects and higher education policy matters within its remit. The President's Office of the University of Erfurt ensures the smooth running of administrative operations and also supports strategic and higher education policy projects as well as key areas of activity of the Presidium. Moreover, it contributes to the coordination of key institutional processes. At the same time, we are always happy to be there for the members of the University of Erfurt!

Our Responsibilities

Support and Coordination of Presidential and Presidium Operations

  • Secretariat of the President and the Presidium (including scheduling and meeting organisation)
  • Responsibility for the day-to-day operations
  • Substantive preparation and follow-up of meetings (including meetings of the Presidium and the Concilium Decanale) and Presidium decisions
  • Preparation of resolutions, monitoring of implementation, and documentation of outcomes
  • Processing and coordination of internal and external enquiries (faculties, deans’ offices, students, ministries, Thuringian Conference of Universities and University Presidents (TLPK), German Rectors’ Conference (HRK), federal level, etc.)

Support for strategic and higher education policy projects and areas of responsibility of the Presidium

  • Collection, comparison, evaluation, and preparation of decision-relevant data and information, particularly in the field of research
  • Development of concepts, planning documents, and governance/regulatory texts
  • Support in communication and drafting of agreements with the Ministry and the federal state
  • Support for research institutes and academic units (“places of research”)
  • Coordination and support of applications for state and federal funding programmes as well as central research initiatives (including matching funds)
  • Project-related special tasks (e. g. visits and events at the University involving federal or state representatives, support for ad hoc working groups, etc.)

  • Development of concepts and planning documents
  • Responsibility for implementing programmes for all academic status groups
