Lecture Series: "The European Way: The Role of Industrial AI in Global Competition"

As the world's largest independent research centre for artificial intelligence, the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) initiates, implements and supports numerous activities to place reliable and trustworthy industrial AI from Germany and Europe in the international competition. Together with the "Institut national de recherche en informatique et en automatique" (INRIA), it has developed a vision for the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence and digital sovereignty in Europe. In Europe, DFKI is particularly strong in basic research and in industrial production in the SME sector. Antonio Krüger, CEO and Scientific Director of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence GmbH (DFKI) and Scientific Director of its "Cognitive Assistance Systems" research department, will report on this on 15 January. Since 2009, he has held the Globus Endowed Professorship for Computer Science at Saarland University, is head of the Ubiquitous Media Technology Lab and scientific director of the Innovative Retail Laboratory (IRL) at DFKI. Professor Krüger is an internationally renowned expert in human-machine interaction and artificial intelligence. His research focus is on Mobile and Ubiquitous Spatial Assistance Systems, which combine the research areas of Intelligent User Interfaces, User Modelling, Cognitive Sciences and Ubiquitous Computing.
