Sarah-Maria Thumbeck receives PostDoc2024+ position

Dr Sarah-Maria Thumbeck has been awarded one of 5 advertised PostDoc2024+ positions at the University of Erfurt. She prevailed against 21 other applications and will start her ParKom project on 1 April 2025 for at least 2 years (100%).

The ParKom project pursues the question: How can participatory research methods be designed in such a way that people with acquired, neurologically-related speech and communication disorders can participate?

The aim of the project is to develop German-language materials and resources for participatory research projects with people with neurologically-related communication disorders that can be used directly in the research process, and to implement them in digital infrastructure (website).
The format of the resources will be designed in line with the wishes and needs of the stakeholders. Possible formats include handouts, audiovisual media, didactically high-quality self-learning materials, webinars, workshops and immediately usable working materials that are adapted to the communicative needs of the target group.

The project team consists of Dr Sarah-Maria Thumbeck, Professor Dr Frank Domahs (Applied Linguistics / Psycholinguistics, Faculty of Philosophy), Professor Dr Sandra Neumann (Inclusive Educational Processes in Language and Communication Impairments, Faculty of Education) and Professor Dr Jacqueline Hinckley (Nova Southeastern University Florida, Professorship of Speech Language Pathology).
