The didactic programme at the University of Erfurt supports teaching staff in developing their teaching skills in a targeted manner and in designing innovative, high-quality teaching and learning processes. Our programme is aimed at all teaching staff at the University of Erfurt – from professors and research employees to PhD students – and offers a wide range of opportunities for personal and professional development.

Aims and objectives
Our range of higher education teaching and learning support services aims to guide lecturers in their professional development and to help them design their courses in a way that promotes learning, is reflective and focuses on skills. This is achieved through:
- Training and further education in the form of certificate programmes, workshops and individual coaching sessions.
- Advice and reflection to further develop one’s own teaching.
- Networking and exchange with other lecturers, central university departments and experts in higher education pedagogy.
What we offer
Our range of higher education teaching and learning programmes is aimed at all teaching staff at the University of Erfurt – including professors, research employees and PhD students – as well as entire faculties and subject areas. Our programmes enable the targeted development of teaching and methodological skills, and provide support with (re)accreditation processes.
- Workshops & Training: Practical workshops on teaching, examination and media pedagogy, as well as on the development of leadership skills, which can be selected on an individual basis.
- Advice & Coaching: Individual teaching consultations, teaching coaching sessions and classroom observations to facilitate reflection on and the further development of one’s own teaching.
- Community of Practice – Good University Teaching: A platform for peer exchange and the joint development of good teaching practice.
- Support for curriculum development: assists faculties and subject areas in the development and refinement of degree programmes.
- Certificate programmes: Structured and progressive skills development through a Crash Course in higher education didactics, a Basic Certificate and an Advanced Certificate, as well as the Masterclass in University Teaching for Professors.
Networking and cooperation
The Centre for didactic programme at the University of Erfurt works closely with key university stakeholders to bring about lasting improvements to study and teaching.
- Vice President for Academic Affairs – Responsibility for student affairs, teaching and digitalisation, including accreditation, the organisation of teaching and the Centre for Higher Education Pedagogy.
- Central Quality Management – Collaboration on course evaluations and quality development.
- Academic Qualification – Integrating the development of teaching skills with career support.
- eTeach@Uni Erfurt - Support for digital learning and teaching.
