On September 10-12, 2025, the 10th Annual Conference of the DGPuK’s working groups on Health Communication and Science Communication will be hosted at LMU Munich. Under the title "Communicating Planetary Health", the conference will focus on the question of how health communication can be shaped in the age of global ecological crises. Members of the Institute for Planetary Health Behaviour (IPB) at the University of Erfurt will be actively involved in the conference with various contributions.
In their presentations, Lena Lehrer will address the effects of future-oriented thinking on the readiness to act and the acceptance of climate protection measures; Kira Maur will speak about climate lawsuits as a form of political engagement; Dominik Daube will examine perceptions of heat-related information, and Finja Augsburg will explore journalistic communication of scientific uncertainties concerning planetary health issues.
Two workshops, featuring IPB Managing Director Mirjam Jenny, as well as Dominik Daube and Sarah Pelull will take a closer look at the communication and teaching of planetary health in Germany. In the Pitch & Poster session, Jule Schmitz will present a study showing that the German public would like to receive more information from physicians on climate-related health risks and adaptation measures.
The conference provides a platform for scientific exchange and fresh impulses at the intersection of communication, health, and ecological sustainability.
