For the leaders of tomorrow: Co-Lab Global Solvers Accelerator in Gotha

For the second time, the Gotha Research Centre of the University of Erfurt is hosting the Global Solvers Accelerator Co-Lab, which is organised by the Melton Foundation in cooperation with the Ernst Abbe Foundation and for which we are once again welcoming international guests to the Gotha campus from 6 to 12 July. The week-long seminar is part of a programme designed to bring together future leaders and drive social change at a local and global level.

The Co-Lab participants explored the City of Gotha on a short tour.

The internationally active Melton Foundation is committed to the goal of global cooperation and supports young people in particular who are involved in social projects in global networking. With its eight-month "Global Solvers Accelerator" programme, the foundation supports future leaders from around the world in developing key skills in the areas of global citizenship, sustainable development and collective leadership. Through a mix of online learning modules, project-based tasks, peer-to-peer exchange and professional guidance, the programme aims to support participants in making an even greater impact on society with their respective social initiatives.

In the run-up to this year's Co-Lab, representatives of the Brandt School and the Melton Foundation met in Erfurt.

The Co-Lab is part of the Global Solvers Accelerator programme and is now bringing all participants together once again at the Gotha Research Centre at the University of Erfurt to deepen relationships, exchange perspectives and jointly develop solutions in real time. "We are looking forward to exciting encounters," explains Dr Benjamin Steiner from the Gotha Research Centre, "because the event is more than just a meeting. It strengthens the global community of people by creating space for joint learning and creative problem-solving. The exchange with the researchers on the Gotha campus also enriches the programme with historical perspectives."

The Co-Lab participants will experience a varied programme over the coming week – with lectures, guided tours, workshops and discussion rounds. An excursion to Erfurt is planned for Wednesday. The Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt will also welcome the international guests there for an exchange programme. Lena Kiesewetter, Managing Director of the Brandt School: "We are delighted that Master of Public Policy students are once again represented in the Global Solvers Accelerator with their own projects and that the Co-Lab will provide additional opportunities for broader networking between Melton Fellows and social entrepreneurship students at the Brandt School."
