Lecture Series: "Russlands Krieg gegen die Ukraine. Ziele, Narrative und Perspektiven"

The lecture series by the University of Erfurt, the Funke Media Group Thuringia and the Thuringian Parliament continues. On Thursday 30 June, Dr Margarete Klein (head of the research group "Eastern Europe and Eurasia" of the "Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik") will talk about "Russia's war against Ukraine. Goals, Narratives and Perspectives". The event begins at 6.15 pm in lecture hall 2 of the Communication and Information Centre (KIZ) on the campus of the University of Erfurt. Admission is free.

Wars are also propaganda battles. The truth dies first. In the current war in Ukraine, the media repeatedly feel compelled to point to the unverifiability of news. The information war is therefore the focus of this semester's lecture series. It is about false information (so-called fake news) as well as propaganda or manipulated images.

The lecture series ...

... was launched in 2018 by the University of Erfurt, FunkeMedien in Thuringia and the Thuringian state parliament. Prominent guest speakers address topics in the area of tension between science, politics and the media. More lectures will follow in July.
