Online-Workshop: Supervising doctorates well - Tools of doctoral supervision

"Supervising doctorates well - tools for doctoral supervision" is the title of an online workshop offered by the University of Erfurt's Staff Unit Research and Graduate Service as part of its qualification programme for supervisors of doctorates (especially in the initial phase).

The digital event will take place on 5 March, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The speaker will be Dr. Nadine Chmura.

The workshop aims to facilitate an exchange about the diversity of existing practices in the supervision of doctoral theses and to establish a dialogue about best practices and challenges in supervision. It will serve as a forum for the participating academics to discuss their current role as supervisors and to communicate the basics of current professionalisation trends in the field of supervision.
Topics include:

  • current developments in higher education policy in the field of doctoral studies
  • quality in the supervision process
  • design and further development of one's own role in supervision
  • challenges in the supervision relationship
  • tools of supervision
  • legal issues in doctoral supervision (including WissZeitVG)
