Committee for Research Integrity and Good Scientific Practice

The task of the standing investigative commission, elected by the Senate, and the ombudsperson is to investigate allegations of research misconduct. Research misconduct occurs, in particular, when false statements are made intentionally or through gross negligence in a context relevant to research, or when the intellectual property rights of others are infringed. The investigation of research misconduct by the investigation committee and the ombudsperson ensures adherence to good research practice.

Guidelines for avoiding conflicts of interest

Expert opinions are sought within the university for grant applications and funding initiatives. Consultation and decision-making are also organized internally. These procedures must be conducted fairly and transparently for both the evaluators and those being evaluated. Bias, which can never be entirely ruled out within a university, should be kept to a minimum. The guidelines for avoiding conflicts of interest are intended to help achieve this:Befangenheitsregeln
