Centre for Transcultural Studies starts the 2024 summer semester with a new programme

The Centre for Transcultural Studies / Perthes Collection at the University of Erfurt is starting the summer semester with a new programme, including a continuation of its "Tuesday Talks" and the "Mappings" event series.

Invited speakers include cartography historian Professor Diana Lange (Hamburg), who will explore the relationship between area studies and the history of cartography on 20 June, and Duke Ernst Fellow Dr Anne Sophie Overkamp (Tübingen), who will discuss the commercialisation of nature in high imperialism on 4 July. Explorative lectures, book presentations and workshops, also in cooperation with Erfurt and Jena colleagues from the history of science, round off the programme, including a study day with former Hiob Ludolf Fellow Zef Segal (Ra'anana, Israel), who will explore the potential of the Gotha Perthes Collection with tools from the digital humanities.

Further information on the programme can be found on the website of the Centre for Transcultural Studies / Perthes Collection.
