The 2026 Erfurt Cloister Talks pose the question of what we can gain by doing without.
At a time when the decades-long promise of incessant growth is reaching its limits, the Cloister Talks provide a conscious counterpoint. Under the title "less: worth more", the series of events organised by the Faculty of Catholic Theology and the Catholic Forum in Thuringia invites people to re-evaluate renunciation not as a mere loss, but as a gain in quality of life and social coexistence.
On three evenings in April and May, prominent guests will discuss what we can gain by doing without.
