Workshop content

This two-day workshop offers intensive training in practical and effective methods of self-organization and time management. In addition to proven techniques, modern digital tools and apps will be presented and applied. The focus lies on enabling researchers to successfully manage and implement larger projects such as dissertations and scientific papers. The workshop is particularly suitable for PhD students who want to make their research projects more structured, develop an agile mindset and learn to effectively manage emotional aspects of self-organization.

  • Development of a personal daily routine
  • Fostering an agile mindset for regular plan adjustments

Emotional aspects of self-organization

  • Learning to say "no" and set boundaries
  • Developing self-discipline and productive habits
  • Controlling perfectionism

Digital tools for self management

  • Overview of different tool types
  • Guide to selecting the most appropriate tools for individual projects and personalities.

  • Strategies for delegating tasks to tools

About the coach

George

Dr. Maia George is an academic coach and former researcher with expertise in various areas. Her diverse range of topics includes new work in academia, scholarship applications, leveraging social media for transitioning to industry, and effective science communication.
Dr. George's experience encompasses her previous roles as a Research Assistant and Research Fellow at LehreLernen, an institution specializing in didactic qualifications in higher education, located at the University of Jena. Furthermore, she is an alumna and current member of the admission committee for the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes).
