Uni Erfurt invites applications for the Internationalisation Award 2022/23

The University of Erfurt is once again offering a prize for internationalisation for 2022/23. It would like to honour the commitment of lecturers who have made a special contribution to internationalisation. Proposals can be submitted until 30 November 2022.

International projects that are currently underway and have a particular impact on the university campus are considered worthy of an award, as are cross-border cooperation formats in teaching and research that have already been tried and tested. The general goal is the continuation and long-term implementation of international course content or forms of study and thus also a higher visibility of the university in the national and international context.

All professors and academic employees who show or have shown a high level of commitment to the internationalisation of the University of Erfurt can be nominated. The prize can be awarded to one or more persons. University members, faculties, central institutions can submit proposals or make their own application. In addition, the Student Council can submit proposals. In the case of an individual application, at least one letter of support is required, which, however, should not come from a person of the same professorship.

Projects that contribute to an understanding between countries and (academic/study) cultures through personal exchange and thus increase the internationality on campus or promote the international reputation and visibility of the University of Erfurt are considered worthy of proposal. In concrete terms, this can include, for example, measures to specifically increase international mobility, projects to expand digital cooperation formats or to prepare for the implementation of an internationally oriented degree programme, as well as the establishment of international components in the curriculum of Erfurt students (internationalisation at home). The commitment to internationalisation should be appropriately presented in the proposal.

The Senate Committee for International Affairs first makes a preliminary selection and then proposes the award winners to the Presidium. The prize is awarded by the Vice President for International Affairs.

The prize money is 2,500 € for first place and 1,500 € for second place. It can be used for international projects in teaching and research and is intended to provide targeted support for existing activities or new international cooperation.
