Virtual Guest Lectures Series during the Spring Break

During the semester break in April 2020, the Brandt School initiated two virtual lecturing series to engage with students who were mostly locked in their dormitories or stuck in their home countries, struggling with the Covid-19 crisis.

One series dealt with different aspects of the pandemic. Several guest lecturers discussed topics such as repercussions on the European refugee crisis, the impact of expert advise on government decisions, consequences for armed conflict in Myanmar, and climate politics as well as climate change.

The other one invited alumni of the MPP to share their experience and career advise with current students. Topics ranged from working for political organizations to academic careers. The Brandt School plans to continue this format even beyond the pandemic restrictions as it allows more exchange between current students and our alumni, who are spread all over the globe.
