P2P: ‘Get the full picture!’ Media literacy in primary schools

How can children learn to critically examine images whilst at the same time engaging with them in a creative and productive way? We present our media education workshop on photo editing and manipulation and provide insights into its design and tried-and-tested delivery. Through a series of selected practical stations, participants can try out various methods of image design and manipulation for themselves, thereby experiencing the workshop from the pupils’ perspective. Together, we will examine which media skills and media education learning objectives underpin each of the stations.
