Lucas Rischkau studied History and Egyptology at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz from 2009-2016. From 2016 to the beginning of 2020, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Erfurt at the Chair of Ancient Culture of Prof. Dr. Kai Brodersen. There he is doing his doctorate on the topic of violence and cruelty in the late Roman Republic and the early imperial period. Since September 2020, he has worked in various positions in the Research and Junior Researcher Promotion Department at the University of Erfurt, and in March 2022 he started the part-time MBA programme 'Higher Education and Academic Management' at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences.
Since 1 January 2023, he has been part-time head of the office of the Thuringian State Presidents' Conference (TLPK) based at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena.
