We are out!
We are observing the changes to the social media platform – from the algorithmic amplification of right-wing populist content to the restriction of organic reach – with great concern. In our opinion, the values that promote diversity, freedom and science are no longer being upheld at “X”. And we no longer see our demand for fact-based communication being met here either. We are therefore discontinuing our involvement on this platform and will no longer be using our central X-channel. However, you can continue to follow us on our other social media platforms – Bluesky, Instagram, Threads and LinkedIn. Stay connected!
To send a strong signal in favour of strengthening democracy and science, around 60 German-speaking universities and research institutions in Germany announced in a joint statement on 10 January 2025 that they would be discontinuing their activities on "X" . The University of Erfurt was among those participating in this declaration.
