TURN Conference 2026 for students and lecturers at Thuringian universities

About the event

TURN understands learning as an active, experience-based process through doing, trying out, designing, failing and reflecting together. This is precisely where student perspectives are particularly in demand. We are looking for contributions from students that show how teaching and learning can be organised from their perspective - for example through projects, initiatives, new teaching and learning formats, critical reflections or concrete experiences from their studies.

The TURN Conference is a space for exchange and design in which students can actively think about teaching together with lecturers, university staff and other stakeholders. Contributions from students are expressly encouraged and are a central component of the conference.

Participation for students

Are you a student and have ever thought: "Why do we always do it this way?"

Then bring your perspective to the TURN Conference 2026 in Weimar: Call for Paper until 28 February 2026

On 24 and 25 September 2026, students, lecturers, employees and other stakeholders will come together at TURN26 to rethink university teaching.

Why are we explicitly inviting students?

As students, you help shape teaching because you experience it every day. You gain experience and contribute ideas in seminars, examinations and learning spaces. This learning perspective is your own expertise, which we want to make visible. Your projects and observations open up new perspectives. We are not only interested in what is going well or badly, but also in how studying actually feels - this perspective is essential for TURN26.
