Founders Service with input on the MENT Media Class 2025

On 22 September 2025, ambitious media studies students met at the Erfurt Children's Media Centre for the MENT Media Class 2025 - and were able to enjoy an exciting impulse for start-up support: The "Starterwerk" start-up services of Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences and the "Social Impact Campus" of the University of Erfurt (represented by its StarTH scholarship holder Sebastian Stöcker), both members of the Thuringian university start-up network StarTH, presented their services relating to media-oriented start-up processes.

At the MENT Media Class 2025 the Founders Services of Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences and the University of Erfurt gave a one-hour presentation to the media studies students from Jena, Ilmenau, Weimar and Erfurt on the opportunities for start-up support within the framework of the StarTH network with the following content:

  1. Introduction to the StarTH network
    The network of eight Thuringian universities supports students across universities with start-up projects.

  2. Presentation of the Founders Services
    Social Impact Campus and Starterwerk offer coaching, workshops, access to funding and networks specifically for media-orientated start-ups.

  3. Practical relevance
    The speakers showed how ideas from the media environment can be transformed into viable business models with the help of these services. Founder and media educator Sebastian Stöcker (graduate of the University of Erfurt & StarTH scholarship holder) provided the impetus here

  4. Interactive elements
    Afterwards, the students were able to talk directly to the start-up consultants and founder Sebastian Stöcker, ask their questions and gain valuable insights into starting a business as an exciting career option.

Conclusion
The cooperation between the two Founders Services and Mediennetzwerk Thüringen e.V. highlighted the relevance of early start-up support in the media sector and made the StarTH network tangible for students.
