Children's university "Rund um das Buch"

In the course of the long history of the Erfurt Children's University "Around the Book", which takes place as part of the Erfurt Children's Book Days, this event has become a permanent fixture in the cultural life of the city of Erfurt, and the programmes are increasingly in demand from schools from all over Thuringia. Every year, around 600 schoolchildren and their teachers come to the university to spend a morning learning interesting, astonishing and thought-provoking facts from the world of children's literature.

In addition to the academics Professor Karin Richter (initiator and founder), Dr Monika Plath, Leonore Jahn, Sophie A. Moderegger and Susanne Koschig, who design and conduct the lectures and prepare the students for the seminars, well-known writers and artists as well as personalities from the film and television industry have also enriched the Children's University with lectures and readings in recent years.
