Mourning for Univ.-Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Hans-Joachim Kornadt

The University of Erfurt mourn the passing of University Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. Hans-Joachim Kornadt, who passed away on April 24, 2023 at the age of 95.

University Professor Kornadt acted from 1998 to 2002 as Senate Representative and Advisor to the President of the University of Erfurt on issues related to the integration of the Faculty of Education of the University of Education into the re-established University of Erfurt. As Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board, he was significantly responsible for the foundation and development of the Research Center for Teaching, Learning and Educational Research at the University of Erfurt.

In recognition of his services as a committed educational scientist as well as a pioneer in the reestablishment of the University of Erfurt, he received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2006 and an honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Education at the University of Erfurt in 2009.

The University of Erfurt will always honor his work and his achievements. Our sympathy goes out to his family.
