On Wednesday, 29 October, students from the University of Erfurt's Psychology subject area – with the support of the Student Council – are organising the first "Pint of Science", a format for research communication in which researchers and people with a non-scientific background can come together and talk about research and science in a relaxed atmosphere. The event starts at 6 pm at Café Nerly in Erfurt's historic city centre. All interested parties are cordially invited.

"At the Pint of Science, science shows its most colourful side and offers a look behind the scenes of research," explains initiator Laura Ragab. "We start with short keynote speeches on research projects from a wide range of subject areas and then invite people to discuss the various topics in small round tables and ask the scientists present questions."

Whether Education, Psychology or Public Health – Laura Ragab's aim is to ensure that as many different disciplines as possible are represented on this evening. "Students are of course very welcome, but it is also very important to me to reach people outside the university who otherwise have little contact with science. We want to make science more accessible and transparent for everyone."
