Stephan Beuting is the first fellow in the Institute for Planetary Health Behaviour's new “Journalist in Residence” fellowship programme and will be based at the IPB from November to January. He works as a freelance radio journalist – for Deutschlandfunk, NDR and WDR, among others – and is an expert in narrative nonfiction formats. He teaches storytelling at the ARD.ZDF Media Academy, among others.
The Institute for Planetary Health Behaviour at the University of Erfurt is opening its doors to dedicated science journalists from autumn 2025. The new fellowship programme for journalists offers the opportunity to work as a “journalist in residence” to become part of the interdisciplinary team and work together with researchers on the pulse of climate and health.
The fellowship is designed for about 2–4 months, ideally 2 weeks of which should be spent on site at the Institute for Planetary Health Behaviour at the University of Erfurt.
The programme is part of the commitment to build bridges between science, media and society and to break new ground in research communication.
