MHFA first aid course for staff of the University of Erfurt

Together with the Mannheim Central Institute for Mental Health and with the support of AOK PLUS, University Health Management is offering a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course for staff of the University of Erfurt. The speaker is Tobias Lange, a freelance lecturer in the healthcare sector.

This certified course is primarily aimed at teachers and employees with counselling functions and contains recommendations on how lay people can assess the situation in mental health crises, recognise signs of mental illness, assist affected persons and refer them for professional help. The content is based on international guidelines and scientific principles.

The course comprises a total of twelve hours and will take place online via Zoom on 4 August, 11 August, 18 August, 25 August, 1 September and 8 September 2025 from 1 pm to 3 pm (make-up dates for individual sessions are possible and must then be arranged individually with the instructor). The course will conclude with a certificate, for which a short theoretical exam (multiple-choice test) must be passed. The number of participants is limited to 20.

Further information can be found on the University Health Management website. Registration for the course is possible via e-mail: gesundheit@uni-erfurt.de possible.
