Michael Gabel: The BMBF-funded project is a fundamental investigation in the field of cultural education for about 40 locations of student communities (KSG and ESG) in Eastern Germany. On the basis of the research results to be published, this will open up a wide range of scientific projects for universities, colleges, social science institutions and institutions of political education: in the fields of politics, (contemporary) history, education, sociology, philosophy, theology, law, ethics and LER.

The BMBF (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung/ Federal Ministry of Education and Research) -funded project is a fundamental investigation in the field of cultural education for about 40 locations of student communities (KSG - Katholische Studentengemeinde/ Catholic Student Community and ESG - Evangelische Studentengemeinde/ Protestant Student Community) in Eastern Germany. On the basis of the research results to be published, this will open up a wide range of scientific projects for universities, colleges, social science institutions and institutions of political education: in the fields of politics, (contemporary) history, education, sociology, philosophy, theology, law, ethics and LER (Lebensgestaltung - Ethik - Religionskunde/ Lifestyle - Ethics - Religious Studies).

Das vom BMBF geförderte Projekt ist eine fundamentale Untersuchung im Feld Kultureller Bildung für etwa 40 Standorte von Studentengemeinden (KSGn und ESGn) in Ostdeutschland. Dabei eröffnen sich – auf Grundlage der zu publizierenden Forschungsergebnisse – für Universitäten, Hochschulen, sozialwissenschaftliche Einrichtungen und Träger politischer Bildung eine Vielzahl wissenschaftlicher Vorhaben: in den Fachbereichen Politik, (Zeit-)Geschichte, Pädagogik, Soziologie, Philosophie, Theologie, Recht, Ethik sowie LER.

The scientific connectivity of the project is guaranteed on the basis of two publications:

a) a brochure, which serves to make its results available to a wider public and to political education;

b) by a scientific work that opens up space for teachers and students to conduct further, more in-depth research in the area of conflict between "denomination - education - politics".
