News Social education blog about Corona

Education, care, nursing and thus the entire care work as well as inequality and the so-called system relevance of social services: The corona pandemic raises a variety of social issues. Social pedagogy as a discipline and profession critically analyses social developments and relates to them in order to help shape the social sphere. Against this background, the blog SOZ PÄD CORONA has just been launched - an initiative of the board of the Commission for Social Pedagogy in the DGfE by Anselm Böhmer (University of Education Ludwigsburg), Mischa Engelbracht (University of Erfurt), Bettina Hünersdorf (Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg), Fabian Kessl (Bergische Universität Wuppertal) and Vicki Täubig (University of Siegen).

The focus of the blog is to offer reflections on what is happening as well as possible forms or positions of social work. It will also publish unfinished and volatile reflections on the questions that arise in the face of the Corona pandemic. The blog is intended as a stimulus to think and discuss further. Colleagues were invited to comment on their respective topics in short contributions. Thus, the blog begins with reflections on dislocations in professional social work that are brought to the fore by corona-related measures. The connections between care and corona as well as the new economy of compassion, which can be seen on the food boards, are also highlighted. Further articles will be published in the next few weeks.
