Description

The course provides participants with expertise in research ethics, offering them a space to reflect on their values and attitudes as researchers. It also allows them to develop skills for managing conflict situations in their research practice. Participants will gain knowledge of the principles of good scientific practice and enhance their ability to make responsible decisions in their daily research activities.

Content and scope are based on the DFG memorandum as well as the guidelines of the respective universities for ensuring "Good Scientific Practice":

About the coach

Andrea Kliewer

PD Dr Andrea Kliewer is a neuropharmacologist and was a group leader in pain research at Jena University Hospital until 2025.
Since 2016, she has been organizing and leading national and international seminars, workshops and lectures on good scientific practice for all career levels: Professors, postdocs, PhD students, Master's and Bachelor students and technical employees. She is active in all disciplines (experimental, empirical and humanities) and at a wide range of university and non-university institutions.
As a member of the scientific integrity team, another focus of her work is the training of trainers for good scientific practice.
She also holds a master's degree in personnel, business and research coaching. Since 2016 she has been working part-time as a coach and consultant on issues such as good scientific practice. She has also been organisational consulting and organisational development for the Institute for Human and Organisational Development (IMO).
