How artificial intelligence can help to better explore history

Following the successful lecture series on the topic of "Artificial Intelligence", to which the City of Erfurt and Erfurt's universities invited students for the first time in the 2024 summer semester, the series will be continued in 2025. On eight dates – each Tuesday from 6.15 p.m. to 7.45 p.m. in the Erfurt Town Hall – speakers from the University of Erfurt and Erfurt University of Applied Sciences, the International University of Cooperative Education (iba), the International University of Applied Sciences and the Health and Medical University will shed light on various aspects of artificial intelligence (AI) from different scientific perspectives.

The last lecture in the series on 1 July will be given by Professor Anna Neovesky from the University of Erfurt will talk about how artificial intelligence can help to better research history. AI processes are used in almost all economic and social areas – and this also applies to history. But can we actually gain new insights into the past through the use of AI? How does this change scientific work – the search for information, the evaluation of sources, their interpretation and analysis? What ethical questions arise and what are the limits of practical implementation?

All interested parties are cordially invited to attend. Admission is free. Please note, however, that the number of seats is limited to 180.
