How can courses be well planned and designed to activate students?
Well thought-out planning and the implementation of courses in a way that promotes learning contribute to the successful acquisition of knowledge and sustainable learning. Teachers are faced with the task of organising their teaching in such a way that it meets both the content requirements and the heterogeneity of the students. This seminar provides support in designing courses in a targeted, student-centred and activating way using various planning dimensions in order to contribute to students' learning success.
After a brief input on constructive alignment and didactic models, planning dimensions are developed (framework conditions, objectives, content, methods, media and organisational aspects). Building on this, participants create their own moderation plans and familiarise themselves with planning tools. In line with the pedagogical double decker, they go through the phase model for cooperative learning and discuss activating methods. With the help of a partner puzzle, they will familiarise themselves with the Think-Pair-Share three-step process. The moderation plan is then either revised or further material (e.g. for guided self-study) is developed.
