Never before has it been so easy to produce and spread false information. At the same time, the call for truth has become louder and louder in recent years. But what is truth actually and what concepts of truth can explain our society today? These questions are explored in the new episode of the research podcast "WortMelder" with Bernhard Kleeberg. Kleeberg is Professor of History of Science at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Erfurt and spokesperson for the research group "Praxeologien der Wahrheit" (Praxeologies of Truth). He states: "We live in an age of truth." However, the social processes behind it could hardly be explained by philosophical epistemological approaches. So we need a new concept of truth to understand our society, namely one that takes a sociological perspective and looks at truth from a practical point of view. In the seventh episode of the "WortMelder" podcast, we talk to the historian about the influence truth has on our lives and our society, why we need to break away from the past 2,000 years of truth research and rethink truth.
