WissXit goes exhibition – TwitterWall becomes eXitWall

At the Humboldt Forum in Berlin, the withdrawal of German-speaking research institutions from the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), in which the University of Erfurt also participated, is currently being presented on a 23 x 4 metre wall. It shows how and why 128 universities and research institutions left the increasingly anti-scientific platform at the beginning of the year.

The exhibition makes it clear that science can take a stand together against contempt for democracy and draw conclusions from the loss of reach. Curator Bastian Herbst on the withdrawal of research from the platform: "What began as a place of exchange became a symbol of democratic crises. With WissXit, we have taken a stand – and are making this visible in the Humboldt Forum." Accessible free of charge in the centre of Berlin until 23 June 2025.
