A Book Magazine for the Gotha Research Library: Discussion on Architectural Research

As part of its anniversary exhibition "Bücher bewegen" (books move), the Gotha Research Library of the University of Erfurt invites you to a discussion event in the "Herzog Ernst Cabinet" at Friedenstein Palace (2nd floor of the Ducal Staircase) on Tuesday, 14 June at 7 pm.

On display there are works from a student design project that took place under the direction of Prof. Jörg Springer in the winter semester 2021/2022 at the Bauhaus University Weimar. The project provides remarkable ideas for the moving question of how the supplementary building urgently needed for the Gotha Research Library can architecturally enrich the area of Friedenstein Palace and the urban space and make the library more visible and tangible in its special significance. The students' designs will be shown in models and pictures and in a model of Gotha made by the students.

The guests will be joined in conversation by:

  • Professor Jörg Springer, Chair of Design and Complex Building Theory at the Bauhaus University Weimar and head of the design project;
  • Felix Balling, student, and
  • Dr Kathrin Paasch, the director of the Gotha Research Library.
Please note:

Due to limited space, registration is required for participation. Places will be allocated in the order in which registrations are received.
