Panel discussion: "De-globalisation and global decoupling. A recalibration of market and state?"

The newly founded doctoral programme "De-Globalisation and Global Decoupling" (DeGlobE) at the University of Erfurt invites you to its first public panel discussion on Wednesday, 22 April, entitled "De-Globalisation and Global Decoupling. A recalibration of market and state?". The event starts at 6 pm at "Haus Dacheröden".

Current developments in the global economy raise fundamental questions: Trade policy is increasingly framed in terms of security policy, industrial policy is experiencing a renaissance, and global supply chains are being reassessed in terms of resilience and strategic dependency. Against this backdrop, the question arises as to how we can better describe the existing processes: Are we witnessing de-globalisation processes? Or are we witnessing another far-reaching reorganisation of global markets under new political auspices?

The event at Haus Dacheröden is dedicated to these questions. It will begin with an input from Stefan Schmalz, who will categorise current developments from a sociological perspective, particularly with regard to global power shifts and the role of China. Melanie Vogelbach ("Deutsche Industrie- und Handelskammer"), Melanie Müller ("Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik") and Renate Sternatz (DGB Hessen-Thüringen) will then take part in a panel discussion.

All interested parties are cordially invited. Admission is free.
