The degree programme in Cremona qualifies students to understand health-related behaviour, lifestyles and consumer habits – and to change them in a targeted manner. It combines psychology, social sciences and contextual factors in a one health perspective: students learn how decisions are made by individuals and communities and how they can be influenced. Specialisations include health and consumer psychology, decision research and sustainability. In addition, they acquire interdisciplinary knowledge of health, nutrition, economics and the environment as well as practical skills in behavioural analysis and the development of effective intervention programmes.
The cooperation opens up special opportunities for students of health communication at the University of Erfurt: it expands the combination of psychology and communication science to include an international perspective and offers insights into current research on sustainable consumption and health-promoting behaviour. The programme fits in perfectly with Erfurt's focus on Planetary Health Behaviour and strengthens the debate on global health challenges. The combination of the one health approach in Cremona and the health communication and psychological focus in Erfurt creates clear added value – and specifically qualifies students to help shape innovative, sustainable solutions in the healthcare system and in society.
