Book presentation and discussion with Anna Hájková

Where are the stories of the great queer love in the Shoah? There are almost none. Anna Hájková explains why the history of same-sex love in the Shoah was later excluded and marginalised and how its return to the collective memory can offer an inclusive and feminist history of this genocide. The book "Menschen ohne Geschichte sind Staub" is based on original and extensive archival research and offers a concise insight into the queer history of the Holocaust for beginners and advanced readers. In the Erfurt event, Anna Hájková will present the fates from the book, as well as her new research on a gay Prague Jewish-Sudeten German couple.

The event is part of the seminar "Zeitgeschichte que(e)r gelesen. Queer lives, loves and struggles in East Germany". It is organised by the Professorship of Modern and Contemporary History and History Didactics and the Equal Opportunity Office of the University of Erfurt. The discussion will be moderated by Sophie Kühnlenz and Christian Hermann.
